The Secrets BEYOND the Secret of Abundance

This past month, I learned some new lessons and new secrets about abundance that have forever changed how I think about money, receiving, giving, and all that is available to me. In the spirit of abundance, I want to share this knowledge with you so that you too can come into more: more money, more time, more freedom, more trust, more love.

I thought I knew a lot about abundance. I’ve known about the Law of Attraction for over a decade, I’ve been making vision boards and using affirmations and visualizations for years. Those are the things that come to mind for most people when they think about abundance and manifestation, and that is usually what is taught in most manifestation and abundance courses and teachings.

What I learned this past month is that manifesting doesn’t stop with the visualizations and affirmations. It doesn’t even stop once what you’ve been manifesting comes into fruition, which was quite surprising to me! Instead, my teacher explained that abundance is a cycle, it’s a flow, and it only stops when you don’t keep the cycle going. I don’t know about you, but I was never taught the “next steps” until this past month!

There are a few analogies I love that help my understanding of the cycle and flow of abundance. Think about a river or any moving water. Water (when not interfered with) is in constant flow. It always replenishes itself. It always returns to source. Imagine you’re given access to a stream of pure spring water. You’re told it will always flow and you’ll always have access to it… but you don’t completely trust that, and you want to make sure you can keep some of it, so you build a dam to give yourself a reserve of that water. When you build a dam, what happens to the abundant flow of the stream? It stops!

Money (or anything else you’re wanting an abundance of) is simply energy. If you’re a facts and science person, you should love this! What do we know about energy and motion? An object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. So if you’re actively manifesting, taking action, and you keep the momentum going, the abundance should keep coming unless you do something to stop it!

However, without knowing how to keep the cycle going, we usually stop taking action once we get the initial thing we wanted OR we give up before we ever get it! And yes, you can manifest new things at any time, but wouldn’t it be so much easier if you just kept the cycle going by some small action, rather than starting all over from scratch?? Of course!! So now the question is, how do you let that stream continue to flow?

If you use the analogy of the water, one of the simplest ways to keep the money flowing is to let some of it go once you’ve achieved the thing you set out to manifest. This is simply a way to keep it in motion. Now I am a big believer in sound investments, and I’m a big saver! I think saving and planning is important, but my biggest takeaway from this new lesson is that putting ALL the money into my bank account is the same as building the dam – you’re just letting the money flow into the reserve, but you’re not keeping the flow going.

My teacher encouraged us to use a portion of that money to either treat ourselves or invest back in ourselves. She taught us that doing so not only keeps the energy in motion, but it sends a message to the universe that you trust that you are supported and you know that there is “more where that came from!”

Healing my scarcity mindset is still a work in progress, but I was more than willing to take my teacher’s advice and try out this theory of keeping the cycle of abundance going. I had a good month of business last month, and of course ALL of the money I earned had gone straight into the bank. So I decided to treat myself, invest in myself and see what would happen.

Networking is a big part of growing my business, and looking nice and well put together is important when it comes to networking. So first, I decided to invest in a few new tops to wear out to events. I had also really been wanting (and needing) a massage, so a few days after this lesson, I scheduled a massage for the next day. A client has just paid me in cash, and I thought why not use this for the massage and let this be part of the experiment?!

Within 30 minutes after booking the massage, I went upstairs to look in my old wallet for a business card I needed. I opened up that wallet, and in it was a fresh, crisp one hundred dollar bill. I have absolutely no recollection of where that $100 came from or when. I don’t believe it just magically appeared in my wallet, but I most certainly feel it was reassurance from the universe that my trust in the divine and the investment in myself would continue to repay me and keep that flow going.

Keeping the cycle of abundance going, keeping things in flow doesn’t mean you have to let all the money go. It’s not a complete “trust fall” into the unknown. It’s just asking for a little bit of letting go and a little bit of your trust. I encourage you to try it out this month, even if it’s with something small. Where can you invest a little bit into yourself? What would feel really good for you, and what can you do to treat yourself and create that good feeling? Take a few minutes to think about it, and then… go do it! You are SO worth it!
